Functions of Noun                                                            

Nouns have several important functions. While it’s impossible to list them all here, we’ll go over the most important jobs nouns are tasked with.

1)    Nouns are subjects. 

Every sentence has a subject, which is a noun that tells us what that sentence is all about.

Examples: -

·         Aswin is an all-rounder cricket player.

·         Colombo is a capital of Srilanka.

·         Money doesn’t depend between good friendship.

·         Education is important to live.

·         Prevention is better than cure.

·         The doctor checks the patient.

·         India won the last match against Bangladesh.

·         The exam will hold on next week.

·         The company was closed in this month.

·         Mathematics improves our intelligence.

2)    Nouns are direct objects. 

These nouns receive action from verbs.

Example: -

·         I like cricket.

·         He throws the ball.

·         The engineer sketches the plan.

·         My mother cook meat well.

·         The company decided the committee.

·         She got awards.

·         We hate smoking.

·         The curriculum designed the team.

·         The government gives free books for students.

·         The art designed someone.
